Foundation Year is a full-fledged academic year where prospective students, in addition to studying the language at an academic level, also take specialized subjects. This program is created for foreign students in order to prepare them for admission to higher education. It is clear that getting an education in a non-native country is a difficult but real stage of life. It is this moral stage that this program prepares you for.
The program itself lasts 10 months and takes place in the same way as at university, i.e. students attend lectures and seminars. During this course, students can live in a dormitory, and use the entire infrastructure of the university (library, laboratories, swimming pools, gyms, etc.). The training is organized in such a way as to feel like a full-fledged student. The aim of the program is to give and instill in the student the knowledge of basic disciplines to the educational standards of Italy and to improve the Italian and English languages. The applicant is also familiarized with Italian educational methods and procedures and learns how to make a lesson plan, take exams, and so on. For admission to the program, applicants must have only an 11-year general high school diploma and no knowledge of Italian is required.
Foundation Year is a way to facilitate student life in Italy. This year of study can also be perceived as an ideal opportunity to adapt to a new country and culture, to experience all the pros and cons of student life, to learn Italian to a conversational level, to understand for yourself what you want to become in the future and who to study for, thus starting a bachelor's program with confidence.
